Kent Noble on Mt. Rainier

I am a Pittsburgh based photographer. The purpose of this Web site is to attract print sales, gallery shows, representation and dialogue.

I have been photographing tattoo conventions since I stumbled into the infamous Crazy Ace show in the Pittsburgh Hilton in 1992. I have traveled from Chicago to Amsterdam, New York to Orlando looking for interesting tattoos and interesting people. I have been lucky to live in a city where one of the best conventions happens every Halloween. If you are in Pittsburgh on Halloween check out The Meeting of the Marked. These ten images represent a small portion of a much larger body of work.

I have been working on my biker parties essay for over a decade. And I have seen things that I never expected to see. "Mama told me not to come!" And then I took pictures. Over 2000 pictures. "That ain't the way to have fun son!" I tell myself I have seen enough and then summer rolls around again. The temperature climbs over 90. A Harley roars by my window and I remember that I never really listened to my mother anyway. There must be something I haven't seen...something.

It turns out a lot of things we eat walk around and eat grass. Who knew? I found out by traveling to the Butler Farm Show each August and making very keen observations. A clue is all those 4H kids crying at the auction on Saturday night. I hope I have never eaten any animals I photographed. That would be wrong! What do you say Mom? I have hundreds of pictures of sleeping pigs. I went pig crazy...now I am better! Horses are boring. Chickens are crazy. Sheep are dimwits and if you are going to rob a bank take a goat. More of those keen observations.

One of the rivers that flows beside Pittsburgh is impossible to spell. Really! That unspellable river flows into the Allegheny River (really hard to spell but not impossible) to create the easily spelled Ohio River. At the point where the two rivers converge there is a small state park with a nice fountain and some other stuff. When I worked in downtown Pittsburgh in the late 80's and early 90's I would spend some time after work in Point State Park looking for sleeping pigs (don't ask!). I took these pictures while I searched.

There is another unspellable river on this Web site and it has a waterfall. A select group of obsessed kayakers and canoeists gather every fall for the Falls Race in Ohiopyle, PA. Simply put they paddle their floating vehicles over the falls. Some land correctly and begin shouting and shaking their fists. ("Michael I'm smart! I could take a kayak off a waterfall!") Others land in some disrepair and we wait to see how things turn out. Usually things work out for the best. We will not speak of the others.

What can I say about infrared film. It is the Siegfried and Roy of the film world. Whacky...sure! Mysterious...certainly! Infrared film is really all about white tiger excitement. See if you don't agree. For fun click on the cactus picture and stare at it for six hours. You will be suprised at what happens!

The Wild Kingdom is the Art Linkletter/Bill Cosby "Animals Do The Craziest Things" web gallery. All Web sites should have at least one picture of an animal that just doesn't know how to act.The fat cat is named Pierre and I am getting product placement money for putting him on this Web site. Stay tuned for the rolling out of the "Trim Spa for Cats" Web site. Sadly Biff the Urban Rabbit has gone home. Died of curtain poisoning. He watches over me.

Portraits are pictures of people. No sleeping pigs allowed in this gallery!

Random Shots. You know random! Like there I was and there it was and....I have grown tired of your silly questions! Leave me alone!
